Friends of Friendless Churches was established by a group of friends in 1957 to save redundant but beautiful places of worship from demolition, decay and unsympathetic conversion.

Over the centuries, churches have fallen out of use for many reasons. But we believe that these buildings represent the spiritual and artistic investment of generations, that they belong to all of us, and should be preserved for the future. We currently care for 60 places of worship in England and Wales.

The Friends of Friendless Churches is an independent, non-denominational charity which receives no government funding in England, and a modest grant in Wales. There are lots of ways you can support our work, from membership to volunteering.
