The IHBC is the professional body for building conservation practitioners and historic environment experts working in the UK and beyond. The Institute exists to establish, develop and maintain the highest standards of conservation practice, to support the effective protection and enhancement of the historic environment, and to promote heritage-led regeneration and access to the historic environment for all. Members work mainly in local authorities and other publicly funded bodies like English Heritage, but also in private practice and UK conservation organisations.

THE CONFERENCE THEME

Climate Change & Significance

This year’s Annual Day School takes place in Bristol and will focus on the increasingly relevant and often challenging topic of how we respond to the implications and impacts of climate change whilst recognising and preserving the significance of the historic and built environment.

This flagship CPD event for heritage and conservation professionals will feature in-person day schools, expert panels, and study tours across the region

WHO IS ATTENDING

Institute exists to establish, develop and maintain the highest standards of conservation practice, to support the effective protection and enhancement of the historic environment, and to promote heritage-led regeneration and access to the historic environment for all.

Members work across private practices and within UK conservation organisations, as well as local authorities and other publicly funded bodies like English Heritage. The Delegates for this conference have a wide variety of backgrounds which will include surveyors, planners, architects, conservation officers, urban designers, structural engineers, heritage managers, archaeologists, project managers, construction and engineering professionals, policy makers, specifiers, innovators, landscapers and historians to name but a few. All of whom are involved in the care and conservation of the historic environment.

The Annual School will be hosted in partnership with IHBC South West Branch and will attract delegates from right across the UK. It will also appeal greatly to those in the Bristol catchment area. We expect well over 200 delegates all of whom will have a significant influence on the use and choice of materials and services in both the public and private sectors.

The School welcomes people working in national and local government and related bodies, private practice, education, academia, charities and other voluntary bodies.

If you’re interested In exhibiting, we have 18 spaces available on a first-come first-served basis so please contact us as soon as possible.

THE EXHIBITION

The excellent location of the exhibition stands in the Stalls Bar alongside the catering and breakout spaces, together with three refreshment breaks will provide good exposure of your display.

Exhibitors will be reserving floor space only and must bring their own free-standing display panels. Tables, chairs and access to a power socket and a delegate place are all included in the price

We are not anticipating any problems, neither Bristol Beacon, the IHBC nor Hall-McCartney can accept any responsibility for loss or damage. On receipt of your booking and instructions, we will issue you with an invoice to be settled within 30 days or by 6th May 2027, whichever is the sooner.
